Description
Fargesia Red Dragon, also known as the Red Dragon Bamboo, is a beautiful bamboo species with vivid red stems and fresh green leaves. This exclusive and non-invasive Fargesia is a real eye-catcher in the garden. This bamboo variety belongs to the non-invasive species, meaning it does not spread aggressively and does not overgrow surrounding areas. The name 'Red Dragon' is derived from the characteristic red colour of its stems. This bright, deep red hue gradually fades to a more subtle colour as the stems age. Fargesia Red Dragon is also very hardy to -20 degrees Celsius and evergreen. The plant has a compact growth habit and reaches a height of about 2 to 3 metres, making it perfect for use as a hedge, privacy partition or as a solitary plant.
Care
Fargesia Red Dragon is a bushy bamboo suitable for all soil types. 'Red Dragon' thrives well in semi-shade to full sun and is a relatively low-maintenance plant. Its maximum height is about 300 cm. The plant needs sufficient water, especially in summer, and prefers well-drained soil. Pruning is not necessary but is allowed to maintain the desired shape and height.
Size
The plants have a height of 60-80cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 17cm.
