Description
The Miscanthus ‘Red Chief’ is one of many Miscanthus grass varieties. The ‘Red Chief’ grass grows narrow, elegant green leaves which change into a brown colour during in autumn. Furthermore, the Red Chief flowers with red plumes that reach out above the plant. During the winter season, the plumes change colour to silvery white. This makes the Miscanthus the most colourful of grass varieties.
Care
Miscanthus 'Red Chief' can be planted in any good garden soil. Furthermore, care is not very difficult, the grass prefers a sunny spot and well-drained soil. It is recommended to prune the grass in March so that it grows back nicely. The flowering time of the grass is from September to October. Eventually the Miscanthus 'Red Chief' can grow up to 200cm tall! Furthermore, the Miscanthus is not toxic to animals.
Size
The plant has a height of 40-60cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 23cm.
