Description
Dracaenas, also known as dragon trees, are native to tropical Africa or Asia. Their name is derived from the Greek word drakaina, meaning female dragon. When the plant is damaged, red resin flows out of the 'wounds'. This resin is also known as dragon's blood and has been used medicinally since ancient times. Nowadays, it is often used in medication for gastrointestinal complaints as well as dietary supplements. It can also be found in anti-ageing creams: the dragon's blood is said to have an antioxidant effect that is up to 5 times stronger than vitamin E. The Dracaena Warneckei has a striking look. Its beautiful green leaves with a subtle wite stripes the plant a unique appearance. The Dracaena is also very easy to care for.
Care
This Dracaena is easy to look after: it likes bright light and a humid atmosphere. Regularly spraying the leaves with water helps keeping the plant beautiful. The plant consumes little water: you only need to water it when the soil feels dry. In summer, it is better to keep the soil a bit more moist. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18°C and 25°C.
Size
The plant has a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 17cm.
