In this wine blend, you will receive the Vitis vinifera ‘Himrod’ and the Vitis vinifera ‘Vanessa’. The Himrod produces delicious white grapes and the Vanessa gives sweet red grapes. Both vines are hardy and self-pollinating. The plants are perfect for sunny locations.
Care
Vitis vinifera is a strong and relatively easy plant to grow, thriving best in a sunny, warm spot with lime-rich, well-draining soil. Young plants need extra watering during dry periods, while mature vines manage with less. Regular pruning is essential: in winter to maintain shape and in summer to direct energy to the grape clusters, resulting in larger and sweeter fruit. A yearly dose of organic fertilizer supports growth and fruiting, while good air circulation helps prevent mildew. With proper care, you can enjoy a generous harvest in late summer to early autumn.
