Description
The Allium, also known as the ‘ornamental onion', is a striking bulb that provides colour in the garden. They bloom between May and June, just when the spring flowers have passed their peak and the summer flowers have yet to begin blooming. This makes them the perfect bulbs to bridge this often dull period in the garden! The Allium Purple Sensation is a striking plant that will catch your attention with its beautiful, deep purple flowers and height of about 75cm. They already have a special look from a distance, but the closer you look, the more beautiful they become! The bulbs can be planted between September and December.
Care
An Ornamental Onion is not difficult to care for: the plant mainly requires a sunny spot. Furthermore, it is sufficient to water the Allium at least once a week. In autumn cut away all spent flowers but leave the green leaves. These will die off by themselves during the winter. The Allium Purple Sensation is hardy, so you can leave the plant outside. That way you can enjoy it again next summer!
Size
The flower bulbs have a circumference of approximately 10 cm upon delivery.
